Malayalam Film and Television Chamber of Commerce Annual Membership

Malayalam Film and Television Chamber of Commerce will accept only online membership applications as online mode has obvious advantages.

People who attained 18 years working or willing to work predominantly in the Malayalam Film and Television Industry whether in Cinema, Television, Web Series and Web Based Assignments, Advertisements, Short Films, Production Houses, Distributors, Exhibitors, Film Creations, Serials, Film and Television Academies, Students and people who plays significant role in the film and television industry directly or indirectly. In the case of youngsters who not attained 18 years, any one of their parents or guardian can apply for Life Membership on their behalf.

The membership application can be sent by anyone at any time round the clock from anywhere in the world and it will save time, money and avoid sending application form and documents in physical form by post or courier.

Annual Membership

All artists or aspiring artists and technicians or assistants in the Film and Television industry are considered for Artist Membership and issued the Artist Membership Card accordingly.
The present Annual Membership fee for Artist and Technician is ₹ 2,000

Advantages of Annual Membership

1. It is affordable. Even economically struggling people can take annual membership.
2. It has same rights of a Life Member except the period of membership and to contest Managing Committee elections.
3. Simple online process and less documentation.
4. No prior experience in the chosen filed is required to become an Artist and Technician annual member.

Disadvantages of Annual Membership

1. The annual membership is valid for one year only.
2. The annual membership should be applied in the month of April. If a special request is made through email id in May month, there is a chance to consider it for an annual membership. Later it is not possible and an applicant has to wait for another 10 months to make an annual membership application.
3. The annual member cannot contest for Managing Committee elections.
4. No reminder or notification will send from MFTC to renew the membership.
5. If delayed to renew the annual membership on time, penalty to be paid to renew it. 6. If membership card is lost, damaged or photo faded out and new address to be added ₹ 500 will be charged to issue a new membership card.
Besides the Annual, Student and Life Members, all others come under Benefactor category and issued Membership Card accordingly. The Benefactor Members and Annual Members can only vote for sector specific elections and not for the Managing Committee elections of the MFTC. However, the Managing Committee and Board of Directors can co-opt or nominate Benefactor Members or Corporate Members as per the discretionary powers vested with them for the vacant posts subject to a maximum 1/3rd of the total Managing Committee strength.
The Annual or Life Member writer can register online title of the story, one line of story and script by paying the appropriate fees.
The Annual Membership application will be accepted during the month of April only. However, if a person makes a special request in May by email to, the application will be considered after scrutiny of applicant’s submitted documents and the membership card will be issued for the period from April to March. For example if a person is making a special request to become an Annual Member in May 2023, his application will be considered after scrutiny of documents submitted and Annual Membership Card will be issued for the period April 2023 to March 2024. The Annual Membership should be renewed before the expiry period and no reminder or intimation regarding the membership period is expiring will be sent to the member. It is the member’s duty and responsibility to renew the membership before the expiry period. If a member comes to renew the membership after two months, a penalty of ₹ 500 will be charged and the membership period will be mentioned from current year April to the following year March for continued membership. The Membership Fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted.
Always remember to pay the appropriate fees and fill up the correct payment reference number before submitting the application form.
