Mitta Antony
Mitta Antony is the first and only trained woman makeup artist in Malayalam cinema. Probably she is the only woman makeup artist in Indian cinema also.
She observed and studied carefully minute changes in the appearance, hairstyle and look of all characters from her childhood which gave her the confidence in working as a makeup artist. Before, scientifically studying make up, she first did the make up for singer Madhu Balakrishnan for a channel programme. After completing the makeup he asked Mitta, are you the assistant of (the veteran makeup artist) Pattanam Rasheed? His comment gave her confidence and changed her life.
She was the first batch student of Pattanam Rasheed’s Make up Institute. Later she worked and learned under several veteran makeup artists of India. But no independent work came from anywhere and she was dejected. Then came an offer from the Bhavan Group Muscat for their Son of Wolf cinema series. A good team consisting of the finest technicians from India was there. That team motivated her tremendously.
