Malayalam Film and Television
 Chamber of Commerce

The Malayalam Film and Television Chamber of Commerce has been incorporated on 22nd June, 2020 under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 as a Non-Profit Organization (NPL) with the objective to promote, develop, encourage, create, provide, manage, protect rights and maintain fellowship and welfare of the members and associates of the Malayalam Film and Television Industry in the present and in the future.
The Malayalam Film and Television Chamber of Commerce (short name Malayalam Film Television Chamber or MFTC) is the only film and television organization operating in Kerala registered under Section 8 of Companies Act, 2013 as a Non-Profit Organization.
The Malayalam Film and Television Chamber of Commerce works with professionalism, vision, mission, adequate planning and practicability. We believe in non-discrimination and sharing equal work space with women. We genuinely encourage women to come forward to work in the film and television industry through giving proper education, competent training, industry support, and mentorship opportunities for its women members. In the Board of Directors, out of seven Directors four are women and in the Managing Committee substantial women members are elected/ nominated. Here also we are the only Film and Television organization in the Malayalam industry that gives the highest priority to women.
Unlike other Film and Television organizations registered in Kerala, which can work mainly within the state only, the Malayalam Film and Television Chamber of Commerce is registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and can operate in other states and Union Territories in India besides Kerala. It is also entitled to expand its working anywhere in the world by opening branches or chapters wherever and whenever required and accept memberships from artists or aspiring artists working or intending to work in the Malayalam film and television industry.
All artists and technicians from the Malayalam film and television industry can become members of the Malayalam Film and Television Chamber of Commerce. Also producers, distributors and exhibitors can become members in the Chamber. Further, any person who intends to work in the Malayalam film and television industry in any capacity such as Story Writer, Scriptwriter, Actor, Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Sound Engineer, Make up person, Singer, Lyricist, Music Director, Choreographer, Fight Master or any other technical person or any person who loves the cinema and television field can also apply for membership. Furthermore, we invite very limited number of benevolent persons as Patrons.
The Malayalam Film and Television Chamber of Commerce is the only Film and Television organization in the Malayalam film industry covering all sects of artists and technicians besides producers, distributors and exhibitors. Producers, distributors, exhibitors, individuals, firms, companies, institutions or organizations can apply for Benefactor Membership. In short, it is an umbrella organization for all in the Malayalam film and television industry. It has two levels of management: The first and foremost is the Board of Directors and next the Managing Committee.
One of the major missions of the Malayalam Film and Television Chamber of Commerce is to familiarize the general public with the modern trends, styles, approaches, treatments and different genres in film and television and also train the passionate actors and technicians by introducing authentic and best online and offline courses on its own and also in association with reputed film and television academies.
In addition, the Malayalam Film and Television Chamber of Commerce provides the services of title registration for films and, for the first time in the history of Malayalam television industry, registration for television serials and programmes, script registration, banner registration and publicity designs clearance to its members free of charge or at a nominal charge as decided and approved by the Board of Directors from time to time.
Another significant factor is that the Malayalam Film and Television Chamber of Commerce is the only Film and Television organization in Kerala licenced to start a Micro Finance Company (MFC) for its members without prior approval of the Reserve Bank of India and a minimum capital.
All donations and charity sponsorships to the Malayalam Film and Television Chamber of Commerce can avail Income Tax exemption under section 80G.
